CAS Member PENG Shige Elected as Member of Academia Europaea

In October 2023, the Academia Europaea (AE) announced the results of its 349 newly elected members. Since the invitation and registration of nominees is an ongoing process, the results were confirmed and published at different times.
While CAS Member JIANG Lei was confirmed to be a new AE member in May, CAS Member PENG Shige was also confirmed to be a new AE member in October. CAS Member PENG Shige is renowned for his original research and achievements in the fields of probability theory, stochastic control and financial mathematics. His major contributions include the establishment of general stochastic maximum principle in stochastic optimal control theory and founding the theory of Backward Stochastic Differential Equations.
Academia Europaea is a global scientific organization with the most extensive cross-regional and academic fields and it’s part of the Scientific Advice Mechanism of European Commission.
