Research Fields: fish taxonomy and systematic evolution. Born in December 1962 in Luzhou, Sichuan Province. Graduated from the Department of Biology, Southwest Normal University in 1983. Obtained his master’s degree from the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1988 and his doctoral degree from the National Museum of Natural History, France in 1998.
