The 2007 CAS Members?New Year Greeting Party was held on January 18, 2007 in the Great Hall of the People. Present on the party, there were more than 700 people including CAS Members from Beijing and Tianjin area, some CAE Members, chiefs of relevant government sectors and and representatives from S&T, education and other circles of Bejing. Prof. Lu Yongxiang, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the Presidium of the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered the New Year greeting message, reviewed the achievements of the Academic Divisions of Chinese Academy of Sciences in the pasting year and prospected the work of the coming year. Prof. Li Jinghai, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences presided the party. A wonderful performance played by the students?actors from the capital primary and middle schools was shown in the party.
Prof. Lu, on behalf of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Presidium of the Academic Division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, wished the CAS Members and all the delegates a happy and healthy new year, extended highest regards to the CAS Members and experts who devoted themselves on the S&T courses, and expressed sincere thanks to the families of the CAS Members and all walks of life, who supported the work of the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
